St. Louis, Mo., July 16, 2012 - Ralcorp Holdings Inc., a national leader in the store brand food business, is the 2012 winner of the top TORCH Award from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in St. Louis.
On Nov. 2, the BBB will recognize Ralcorp’s leadership in business ethics by presenting this year’s top TORCH Award to Kevin J. Hunt, president and chief executive of Ralcorp. Hunt will be the twelfth business leader from Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois to receive the award, which recognizes excellence in customer service, employee relations and ethical business practices.
Hunt will speak at a luncheon at noon Friday, Nov. 2, in the Khorassan Ballroom of the Chase Park Plaza. Last year’s honoree, Derek Glanvill, corporate president and chief operating officer of McCarthy Building Cos., will be the honorary chair and will introduce Hunt. KMOV News Anchor Jasmine Huda will emcee the event.
Ralcorp leads the nation in providing a variety of high quality store brand foods that supermarkets sell under their own names. The company manufactures cereals, pasta, cookies, crackers, snack nuts, frozen bakery goods and other products that are comparable to national brands. Sales totaled $4.2 billion in the most recent fiscal year, excluding Post Foods, which was spun off recently as a separate company.
Ralcorp’s core values are: accountability, integrity, pragmatism, collaboration and people. Its vision is to grow through internal expansion as well as strategic acquisitions.
“We are extremely proud of our selection as a leader in ethical business practices,” said Mr. Hunt. “We firmly believe that our practices of treating our customers, suppliers and employees with integrity and fairness promotes confidence in Ralcorp as a trusted partner and employer.”
Ralcorp has more than 10,000 employees worldwide, including 550 in the St. Louis area.
In addition to Ralcorp, local TORCH Award winners will be honored at the November banquet, and the BBB will award three “Student of Ethics” awards to high school students from Missouri and Illinois.
The BBB urges you to join leaders in eastern Missouri and southern Illinois in honoring trusted businesses and charities in the region.
