St. Louis, Mo., August 27, 2013 – The Foster & Adoptive Care Coaltion, based in Brentwood, Mo., is among nine businesses and three charities that will be presented with BBB TORCH Awards for exceptional ethical business practices and customer service from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Serving Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois on Oct. 24.
The BBB Accredited Charity is widely recognized for its “A Place To Call Home” segments on KSDK-TV. The segment, which airs during news shows, features children who need “forever families” – stable foster or adoptive homes. What is less widely known is that the coalition works to place some of the region’s most difficult cases – foster children who are a sibling group, older youth or children with emotional, developmental or behavioral concerns.
“We believe that every child deserves a place to call home,” said Rossi Summers, operations director for the coalition.
The BBB will present the TORCH Awards at a luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Chase Park Plaza. Stephen M. R. Covey, author of business bestseller The Speed of Trust, will be the keynote speaker. KSDK News anchor Art Holliday will emcee the event.
Tickets for the luncheon are available at $50 a person, or $500 for a table of 10. Patron tables for 10 are available for $1,500, and other sponsorship levels are available.
