St. Louis, Mo., August 27, 2013
– Children’s Home Society of Missou
ri, based in St. Louis County, Mo., is among nine businesses and three charities that will be presented with BBB TORCH Awards
for exceptional ethical business practices and customer service from the Better Business Bureau
(BBB) Serving Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois on Oct. 24.
Karen Nolte, executive director of the BBB Accredited Charity, has seen the agency transform from an orphanage and adoption agency, founded in 1891, to a child- and family-focused organization providing crisis pregnancy and adoption services, trauma counseling and post-adoption support. The agency also provides respite and residential care for children with serious developmental disabilities.
“Agencies have to continue to think about how adoptions happen in this world,” said Nolte, “and what services and support are needed by adoptive families.”
The BBB will present the TORCH Awards at a luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Chase Park Plaza. Stephen M. R. Covey, author of business bestseller The Speed of Trust
, will be the keynote speaker. KSDK News anchor Art Holliday will emcee the event.
Tickets for the luncheon are available at $50 a person, or $500 for a table of 10. Patron tables for 10 are available for $1,500, and other sponsorship levels are available. Sign up online
