St. Louis, Mo., June 9, 2010 – The Better Business Bureau (BBB) will open a branch office in Columbia, Mo., the second-largest city in its 92-county region, later this summer.
The decision to open a Columbia office follows two years of study by the BBB. The office will help BBB Accredited businesses by increasing awareness of the organization. Consumers will be reminded that they can contact the BBB for help in finding trustworthy businesses, alerts on scams as well as to obtain assistance in resolving disputes.
The branch, the first in this BBB’s 93-year history, will focus on community outreach and will give mid-Missouri media a local resource for consumer and business stories as well as providing news generated by the BBB. The BBB is currently accepting resumes for the
branch manager position.
When the office opens in mid-August in the Buttonwood Business Center, it will demonstrate the BBB’s commitment to serving mid-Missouri, including Columbia, Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks region. The BBB’s territory stretches from Columbia east to the Indiana border, covering all of eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois.
