St. Louis, Mo., August 27, 2010 – The Better Business Bureau (BBB) will move back to downtown St. Louis in January after 13 years in St. Louis County.

The BBB Board of Directors recently approved relocation of the BBB offices to the Metropolitan Square building downtown from its current location in the Sunnen Business Park in Maplewood. The BBB was founded downtown in 1917.

“After a search throughout the metro area, we have decided that the City of St. Louis best meets our needs and those of the business community,” said Michelle L. Corey, BBB president and CEO. “At the same time, our return to downtown affirms our commitment to the city’s revival, which is critical to the health of the entire region. It has the added benefit of being more convenient to the Southern Illinois part of our service area.”

“I am thrilled that the Better Business Bureau has chosen to move back Downtown,” said Mayor Francis Slay. “The BBB understands that the vitality of a downtown is essential to the region - and its move to the region's business core shows its commitment to the City and to the needs of its clients.”

The BBB serves 92 counties in eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois.
