St. Louis, Mo., Sept. 29, 2011 – The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has revoked the accreditation of Heiman Holdings, Inc., 5710 N. Broadway, St. Louis, Mo., for a violation of the BBB’s Accreditation Agreement.

The BBB’s Executive Committee took the action on Sept. 20, 2011, at the recommendation of its Ethics Committee.

Heiman Holdings, Inc., was notified of a customer complaint on numerous occasions between Oct. 6, 2010, and Aug. 18, 2011. The firm failed to make a good-faith effort to resolve the complaint. No representative of the firm attended the Sept. 20, 2011, hearing before the Ethics Committee.

BBB Accredited Businesses are required to respond to customer complaints, to make a good-faith effort to resolve complaints, and to honor arbitration decisions.  Failure to do so is considered prejudicial to the best interests of the BBB and private enterprise.

BBB Standards of Accreditation are designed to offer consumers confidence before they make purchasing decisions.  Expulsion from accreditation status is unfortunate; however, the BBB takes enforcing its accreditation standards very seriously.  The BBB also applies these standards to new applicants, who can be denied accreditation if they do not comply.

Consumers are urged to contact the BBB at (314) 645-3300 or www.bbb.org for a BBB Business Review before doing business with any company or charity.
