St. Louis, Mo., Dec. 12, 2012 – Joe Schmelzle, senior director of agency development and customer service for Unigroup Inc., has been elected chair of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Board of Directors, effective Jan. 1, 2013.
Schmelzle succeeds Joanie Taylor, director of consumer affairs and community relations for Schnuck Markets Inc. Taylor remains on the board as immediate past chair.
BBB board members elected Schmelzle and other officers Nov. 5 at the BBB’s annual meeting. The others elected were:
• Vice Chairman— Robert J. Hoffmann, president of Hoffmann Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning Inc.
• Treasurer— Larry Giglio, senior vice president—operations at Graybar.
• Secretary— T. William White, senior vice president at Commerce Bank.
• Director-at-large—Scott Mosby, president of Mosby Building Arts.
Michelle L. Corey was re-elected president and CEO of the BBB.
