St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 3, 2009 – Michael F. Maguire, group sales manager of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, has been elected chairman of the BBB Board of Directors.
Maguire succeeds Richard Klassen, chief marketing and sales officer of Delta Dental, who remains on the board.
“Building trust in business is more important than ever in a troubled economy,” Maguire said. “I look forward to helping the BBB in its vital mission of encouraging honest and ethical behavior among companies in Missouri and Illinois.”
The BBB membership elected Maguire and other board members at its Nov. 2 annual meeting. Other officers elected were:
- Vice Chairman - Mary C. Kullman, chief governance officer and corporate secretary of The Laclede Group.
- Treasurer - Joanie Taylor, director of consumer affairs and community relations, Schnuck Markets Inc.
- Secretary - Joe Schmelzle, senior director of agency development and customer service, United Van Lines.
- Director at Large – Robert Hoffmann, vice president, Hoffmann Brothers.
Michelle L. Corey, president and CEO of the BBB, was re-elected.
Newly elected members of the board are:
- Oscar Berryman, director of corporate services at Monsanto Co.
- Paul Birner, chief operating officer, Amazing Siding Corp. of Missouri.
- William Courtney, president, Helitech Waterproofing.
- Robert Dubinsky, president, Waterway Gas & Wash.
- Larry Giglio, senior vice president of operations, Graybar.
- William T. Jehling, president and CEO, Clarkson Eyecare.
- Alphonse D. Poelker, senior vice president – long term care, Bethesda Health Group.
- W. Thomas Reeves, president, Pulaski Bank.
- Thomas Seeger, owner, Seeger Toyota Inc.
- Thomas B. Walsh, vice president – information systems, Drury Hotels Co.
Maguire, 49, has been with Enterprise for 27 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Texas A&M University. He lives in Ladue with his wife and two teenage daughters.
